Become a newspaper editor!

Ever thought of running your own newspaper? Now is your chance!

Crinkling News is running six, two-week junior assistant editor programs. This means six readers will go behind the scenes and help Crinkling News publish two issues of the newspaper.

Successful applicants will be taken through the steps involved in putting this paper together. You will have meetings (over the phone or via video link) with an editor to discuss the stories of the week. You will also be able to pitch your story ideas. You will help select photographs and be taught how to write an editorial, which will be published at the end of your two-week stint. And your work will be recognised too.

How to apply

If you would like to apply for the junior assistant editor program, please complete the form below. Entries close Friday, June 9, 2017.

Applications are open to children aged between seven and 14 who are either individual subscribers or who attend a school that subscribes to Crinkling News.

Up to 20 people will be selected based on their applications. Following that, there will be phone interviews to help decide who the successful assistant editors are.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, July 4, with the first junior assistant editor to commence their two-week program on Tuesday, July 11. Good luck!
